British Columbia Vocational School, Nanaimo

The B. C. Vocational School in Nanaimo opened in 1936. It was the province's first vocational centre. It was run by the Department of Education with funds provided by the Dominion-Provincial Youth Training Agreement.

Initially, the school was located in a disused stable on Franklin Street in Nanaimo, but in the 1940s it was relocated to Harewood, near the Nanaimo Army Camp.
